Attendance: 6 Members, 0 Guests. The first member meeting of 2026 began with dinner and conversation, followed by Happy Dollars as members shared recent joys—from reconnecting with old friends and hitting the ski slopes to tackling home projects and enjoying quiet time by the fire with a cozy pup.
An update was shared on the Free Throw Contest, with 47 participants pre-registered and strong volunteer support from the school district, Bank of New Hampshire, Key Club, Lou Athanas Basketball, and Kiwanis members. Betty has done an outstanding job organizing the event.
The February meeting will be an interclub event with the Mount Washington Kiwanis Club in Conway; members are asked to RSVP to Bob Willey by February 3 – [email protected]. The March member meeting will feature a presentation, with the topic to be announced.
Members agreed on the club’s mission focus and new tagline—Kids. Community. Service. Members also discussed promotional clothing options and reviewed plans for a new, ongoing blog-style newsletter.
Youth Training was attempted, and Tara will confirm if it was completed correctly.
Items were collected for the Child Advocacy Center Care Closet. Additional donations can be dropped off at Tara’s by Tuesday, January 27th – 363 Elm Street, Laconia, on the enclosed porch.
