Laconia Kiwanis is saddened to share the passing of long-time Kiwanian, Warren Mitchell. Warren had been in intensive care at Concord Hospital – Laconia for about four weeks before passing away peacefully on March 28th. His complete obituary may be seen here.

KARES at Woodland Heights

On March 3, Kiwanis visited Woodland Heights Elementary School as part of the Kiwanis KARES program to celebrate reading and the imaginative world of Dr. Seuss. Hosted by Mrs. Robbie Neylon for WHS 3rd-grade classes, the event brought together students and Kiwanis volunteers for a morning focused on the joy of books.

Club Meeting – January 21, 2026

Attendance: 6 Members, 0 Guests. The first member meeting of 2026 began with dinner and conversation, followed by Happy Dollars as members shared recent joys—from reconnecting with old friends and hitting the ski slopes to tackling home projects and enjoying quiet time by the fire with a cozy pup.

An update was shared on the Free Throw Contest, with 47 participants pre-registered and strong volunteer support from the school district, Bank of New Hampshire, Key Club, Lou Athanas Basketball, and Kiwanis members. Betty has done an outstanding job organizing the event.

Fourth Annual Free Throw Competion!

Boys and girls from across the Lakes Region are invited to participate and showcase their basketball skills in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment at our fourth annual Free Throw Competition! The Laconia Middle School Gym will be jumping on January 25th as we add a vertical leap competition this year as well! It’s free to enter, and the competitions are open to all Lakes Region boys & girls from ages 8 through 13.
