K.A.R.E.S. at Pleasant Street School – January 22, 2026

On January 22, Laconia Kiwanis presented a Kids and Reading Equals Success (K.A.R.E.S.) event at the Pleasant Street School.

Kiwanis Member John Intorcio helped youngsters execute a Kiwanis-themed word puzzles to build essential literacy and cognitive skills by strengthening spelling, expanding vocabulary, and enhancing pattern recognition.

Muff Kruse, Friend of Kiwanis, applies a Kiwanis stamp and helps children personalize their book selections. Each student was allowed to select two Scholastic books to take home, courtesy of Kiwanis.

Jackie Bonafide, Friend of Kiwanis, reads a book on planet Earth to her interested charges.
