About Kiwanis

Laconia Kiwanis

The Kiwanis Club of Laconia is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children and strengthening our community. Guided by the basis of the Kiwanis mission, Kids, Community, and Service, we focus on hands-on support for children right here in our area. We believe that the most meaningful gift we can give our kids is our time—showing up, helping directly, and being actively involved while offering programs and projects that support their growth, safety, and success. Through volunteerism, partnerships, and community engagement, Laconia Kiwanis works to build a brighter future for our children and our community as a whole.

New England and Bermuda District

Kiwanis districts function as regional administrative bodies within Kiwanis International, supporting local clubs in their mission to serve children and communities.

Currently, there are 49 active and provisional districts worldwide. These districts play a vital role in furthering Kiwanis’ goals by establishing new clubs, strengthening existing ones, and offering education and service leadership programs.

Each district is divided into geographic divisions, which are led by a Lieutenant Governor. The Laconia Kiwanis Club is a member of the New England and Bermuda District.

The New England and Bermuda District of Kiwanis consists of 21 divisions and 140 Kiwanis Clubs.

Kiwanis International

Kiwanis International helps kids around the world by taking on large-scale challenges such as fighting disease and poverty. For more than a century, the organization has created opportunities for children to be curious, safe, healthy, and supported — no matter where they live. Kiwanis empowers communities globally by making lasting differences in the lives of children and strives to ensure that one day all children will wake up in communities that believe in them and provide what they need to thrive. With service at the heart of every club, Kiwanis members collectively stage about 150,000 service projects and raise nearly US$100 million each year. By working together, Kiwanis clubs around the world accomplish what individuals alone cannot.
